Courtesy and Common SenseWhat is the general rule for proper, safe, and acceptable use of waterways by personal watercraft operators? With recreational boating and water sports ranking high on leisure time use, personal watercraft operators will be sharing the water with many others. Surfers, sailors, sailboarders, fishermen, water skiers, swimmers, divers, and other boaters are some of those who may be sharing common waterways at any given time. Common sense and courtesy will help prevent conflicts involving personal watercraft and make them more welcome. PWC operators need to show respect for other boaters, respect for other water users, (including but not limited to swimmers), and the environment. |
