Minimum Age For OperatorsIn many states, 16 years of age is the minimum age for PWC operators. Other states allow operators to be as young as 12 years old - some of those allow 12 year olds to operate a PWC only after they have completed a safe operator's course, such as this one, and there may be other restrictions. In any case, remember that, when you allow anyone to operate your PWC, you are responsible for any problems, damage, or injury which occurs. Make sure you only allow others to operate your PWC who meet your state's minimum age requirements, and use good judgment. Ignorance is no excuse: many states and localities have specific laws regarding personal watercraft. Make sure you are familiar with all of them before you ride. Know Before You Go! |
